Orchestrating and scaling a Global Design Ecosystem
The Challenge
EY Fabric presented a powerful opportunity to accelerate technology delivery at an unprecedented global scale. To realize the platform's full potential, we identified a need to move from decentralized design efforts toward a unified, high-performing ecosystem. The mission was to establish a centralized infrastructure that would empower teams across Service Lines (200+ products) to build with consistency, accessibility, and speed.
The Solution
In partnership with cross-functional leaders, we spearheaded the unification of the platform’s design strategy by codifying a firm-wide design system and reusable component library with a Microservices architecture. This was a collective effort to establish governance models and quality standards that could be adopted across the enterprise.
To support this vision, we built a global talent framework, scaling our design organization from a few individual contributors to a high-performing team of 27 UX professionals. Together, we integrated the UX roadmap for 20+ core products, ensuring our design system served as a force multiplier for every development team involved.
